VOLUNTEER CORNER
This section will highlight one of the many volunteers that give of their time to server TNWoU. Please express your appreciation to this volunteer at an up-coming meeting.
Meet Pete Occhipinti
-- I joined TNWoU in September of 1993. I really don't normally join groups, but I was taken with the ease of sharing information by the members I met at the meeting, and have been here ever since.
-- I try to attend various SIGs which appeal to me. Currently that includes FileMaker Pro SIG, Internet & Web Site Design SIG, Office Productivity SIG. I would occasionally attend the Graphics SIG when it was operating when there was a subject that appealed to my interests. I would advise all members to take advantage of the SIGs. They provide a great way to jump start one's knowledge in a particular area, in both a friendly and intimate setting.
-- I've used Macintosh computers since 1985, owning a number of different ones over the years. My Mac gets used in many ways. I own a business and use FileMaker Pro for order-taking, and all kinds of data-manipulation and forecasting. Since our business puts out a yearly product catalog and we also have a web site, I use Photoshop and Quark Xpress on my Mac along with other related software for their production. Excel is used for various spreadsheet projects that aren't as easily done with FileMaker. iPhoto stores my photos (mostly of the grandkids). In the last few years I've played around with Garageband and have had a ball creating over 30 pieces of "music" during that time. All-in-all, my Mac is an essential part of my day at work, and my play at home.
We need many more volunteers to help us keep your user group running strong. Please consider helping the group. It is so easy and you don't have to commit hours and hours of time. Just a little help will be greatly appreciated. Send an email right now to let us know of your willingness to help.
