VOLUNTEER CORNER

This section will highlight one of the many volunteers that give of their time to server TNWoU. Please express your appreciation to this volunteer at an up-coming meeting.

Meet Bev Buchanan - Membership table volunteer

My first computer was an Apple IIc in 1984, and my first Mac was in 1989. I have never owned anything but Apple computers. I frequently tell people “No, I don’t do Windows.”After belonging to Mac User Groups in Nashville, Tennessee and Pensacola, Florida, I joined TNWOU when we moved to Illinois six years ago. Volunteering at the Membership table is a satisfying way to help the organization while getting to know other Mac users.

Having been a professional musician in my former life, I was a volunteer editor and publisher of music for 25 years. In that capacity I prepared and published many collections of music using my Mac and the music notation program Finale. Now I am into genealogy and am preparing my researched information and photos on my Mac to share with family members. Reunion for Macintosh is considered by many of us to be the best computer genealogy software available. Last week a MacBook was added to our home collection of Macs. Each month I look forward to the meetings, learning more about Macs and welcoming fellow users.

We need many more volunteers to help us keep your user group running strong. Please consider helping the group. It is so easy and you don't have to commit hours and hours of time. Just a little help will be greatly appreciated. Send an email right now to let us know of your willingness to help.
